The DEFORT DID-505-B impact drill is a low-powered and small tool that is most likely not suitable for drilling thick metal and concrete structures due to the very low engine power.
Having looked at the technical characteristics of this impact drill declared by the manufacturer, any professional builder who has been drilling various materials will draw such a conclusion. 500 W of power is enough for drilling plastic and wood or products made from these materials, thin sheet metal, or metals with a low density (copper or aluminum), and from stone materials it will be possible to drill porous materials such as gas silicate blocks, bricks, plaster and similar materials.
At the same time, the drill has a function of impact drilling. It is equipped with a metal key chuck that securely clamps the drill from scrolling,
as well as a reverse function, in case the drill is jammed in the hole.
There is also a blocking of the electric drill start button, although with such power it does not make much sense, except when drilling a large number of holes in soft material such as wood.
Also, the DEFORT DID-505-B drill has a motor speed controller, although the range is not too wide.
The tool also comes with a drilling depth gauge and an additional handle. The second element, in principle, was most likely made for the kit, since practically an additional handle will not be able to bring any benefit. If you push too hard on the drill while drilling, the drill will simply not be able to turn.
The body of the DEFORT DID-505-B impact drill is made of black plastic. The only exception is the controls: the start button lever, with the exception of the button itself with the function of changing the speed of the drill motor (it is black), the start button lock button and the drilling mode switching mode button.
All elements are located very conveniently and you can carry out all the switching without any difficulties in the process. As a feature, we note that the button for switching drilling modes is located on the side to the left of the case, and not at the top, like most electric drills.
Additionally, on top of the body of the electric drill there is a special ledge - a latch. It serves to fasten the tool on the belt, which is very convenient when working at height when you work with various tools. The drill stays within reach and the hands are free.
In our opinion, this drill is suitable only for those people who very rarely have to use this tool. Moreover, he does not plan to drill concrete or steel at all.
