We decided to devote this article to one of the Russian electric drills, or rather the IE-1035 electric drill produced in Rostov.
This drill is not a professional tool, but it is intended for use during fairly large loads in construction and repair.
The drill has a durable metal body. Thanks to this, it is not afraid of falls, although it is much heavier than imported drills of similar power. All components used in this drill are Russian-made.
The electric drill is equipped with a metal three-jaw chuck PS-16. By the way, you cannot insert a drill more than 14 mm into an imported drill, they simply do not put such cartridges on them.
The standard chuck on most electric drills is rated for a maximum diameter of 13mm. In principle, it makes no sense to equip electric drills with cartridges for drills of a larger diameter. The motor simply can't handle the task of turning the drill through hard material such as steel.
Like most modern electric drills, IE-1035 is also equipped with an additional handle. This element is usually simply irreplaceable when drilling with thick drills. An additional handle is installed, unlike most other similar tools, not on the neck of the case in front of the cartridge, but directly into the case. The handle is screwed in like a handle in a grinder.
On the one hand, it is reliable, on the other hand, you cannot change the position of the handle by turning it, for example, by 20 degrees. The position is strictly fixed.
As a minus, it is worth noting that in this model of an electric drill there is no reverse, so drilling must be done carefully, especially metal. If the drill jams, you will have to suffer to free it. And given the high power of the engine, if you do not hold the drill in your hands, you can get injured.
At the same time, the absence of some functions can significantly reduce the price of a drill, which is why the demand for it remains quite high. This tool is often bought by people involved in various construction works as the main income - cobblers. The advantage of this is that the tool has a solid body, a small price, is quite reliable and what power is needed.
As a rule, these people do not bother to repair a tool - they just work until it fails at all. During this time, the tool pays for itself several times, although if it is necessary to repair this drill, it is much easier than imported ones. There are always enough spare parts in specialized stores for the IE-1035 drill, and in the markets too.
Externally, the drill does not have a very beautiful modern design, on the other hand, you can’t admire it. The case is made in black - silver color. A distinctive feature of this electric drill is the main handle. She is not a pistol but a double. If you drill holes in the floor, then you can hold on to it with two hands. By the way, due to the large weight, drilling walls and ceilings with this drill is not very convenient - your hands get tired quickly.
